The Lady Flashes Track squad had a solid showing at the Conference Indiana Championships held at Southport High School Friday. They were led by two OUTSTANDING performances from junior Emma Coney and sophomore Cassie Evans. Coney continued her dominance in the 300-meter hurdles as she won convincingly and is still undefeated in the event on the year. Emma would also finish 3rd in the 100 hurdles as well to score 16 points just by herself.
Cassie Evans had a MONSTER throw in the discus that would prove to be the deciding factor in winning a conference title. Her throw of 136’9″ was not only a new PR of nearly 10 feet, but was the top mark in the state of Indiana. Evans’ throw was only a mere foot away from the school record held by FC Track great, TeTe Hill.
Freshman Brianna Lawson had a stellar night running a new PR in the 1600 of 5:12 just narrowly being defeated by less than a tenth of a second.
The Lady Flashes Track Squad is back in action this Friday at the Pike Invitational.
