Flashes Advance to Sectional Championship on Sat. 10/7 at 6:00 PM
The Flashes Boys Soccer team drew the Lawrence North Wildcats for their opening round match of the Sectional Tournament #11 at Arsenal Tech High School. On Wednesday evening, the Wildcats and Flashes played a well-contested matchup, with both sides coming out ready to play. The match was tied 0-0 late into first half when Franklin Central’s Senior midfielder, Quinn Ferguson, drilled a free kick from 30 yards away that managed to hit two of the goal’s posts before the ball ricocheted back into the field of play. Freshman forward, Usman Kamara, crashed the goal on the free kick and headed the ricochet into the back of the net with 2 minutes to play in the first half. The Flashes 1-0 lead would hold in the second half as neither team was able to score any more goals, and the Flashes advanced to the Sectional Championship game against Cathedral on Saturday, 10/7 at 6:00 PM.
