FCHS is proud to announce our newest member of the Athletic Team, Richie Bruno, CSCS, as our Strength Conditioning Coach.
Richie graduated from IUPUI in May of 2017 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science, with a focus in strength and conditioning. He completed his senior internship at the University of Indianapolis, working under their Strength and Conditioning staff and helping train athletes campus wide. During the course of his collegiate career, Richie competed in numerous weightlifting based competitions. He competed in the World’s Strongest Boilermaker at Purdue University, taking first place in his second year competing. Throughout his college career, he competed in four powerlifting competitions, winning first in every attempt. Richie also competes in bodybuilding. During his first competition in the physique division, he won his class and the overall. The following year, he placed fourth in his class for the classic physique division.
Richie just completed his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists Certification through the National Strength and Condition Association. Following his passion for strength and conditioning, he has worked as the Strength Coach for two seasons with the Crimson Knights, a homeschool football team. He just finished a summer internship at Center Grove High School with Head Strength Coach, Marty Mills helping with and leading the summer conditioning. He has a strong passion for youth athletic development, as well as educating people on the benefits and proper techniques of exercise. His goal is to make sure athletes are taught in a correct manner so they can perform at a high level with maximum amount of confidence and success.
